Katsutoshi Yuasa | Cleveland Museum of Art Exhibition

The stunning woodcut prints of Katsutoshi Yuasa are currently being featured in The Cleveland Museum of Art's exhibition 'Fresh Prints: The Nineties to Now.'

The exhibition showcases a wide range of printmaking techniques that have been utilized by contemporary artists over the past twenty years. Together the artworks demonstrate the incredible, diverse power of the medium, and express a range of ideas, from Katsu's exposition of the natural world, to the personal feminsim of Louise Bourgeois, and the abstraction of Richard Serra.

"Printmaking was a medium for communication and information. Tradition is important but we should think also about future traditions. Contemporary printmaking should have the universality of photography. We need to talk about printmaking without technique."
